I have always loved the Holidays. I love hosting my family — cooking, decorating, shopping for the people I love. I love how everyone slooooows down to really appreciate quality time together.⠀

When we bought our house this year, I spent months searching for the perfect dining room table that would be big enough to seat my family. I envisioned hosting Christmas Eve in our new house seated around this dining room table with our new baby. And this Holiday as that vision came to life, my heart is full of the thing that matters the most — LOVE.⠀

I’m so thankful for my clients & students & team for supporting my business for yet another year. I’m so thankful that I have a business that allows me to do things like hunt for the perfect dining room set to seat my family and spend uninterrupted quality time with the people I love during the Holidays. 🙏🏼⠀

For Christmas, I usually have all gifts bought and wrapped by the second week of December. I always have a Christmas Eve cocktail recipe prepared for when we host. Every little detail is typically thought of.⠀
⠀
And this year…..we have a 2 month old 🤪 so needless to say I still have shopping and wrapping to do. We’re hosting Christmas Eve (cause despite any circumstances, I’d never give that up!) and we still need to grocery shop.⠀
⠀
Me and my husband usually do a family tripod photoshoot on Christmas morning and last year when we were taking our photos I said to him “I really feel like this is the last Christmas morning it’ll be just the 2 of us.”⠀

Here we are! A year later with a little one in our home, coming into these traditions with us.⠀
⠀
Now off to shop, wrap, clean, and pray Carter let’s me get it all done gracefully. 🙏🏼🎄⠀

I don’t like saying no because of money.⠀

Whether it’s hiring my next mentor or seeing a pair of shoes I like.⠀

I can align with that statement confidently today but it’s a muscle I’ve had to strengthen over time.⠀

The first investment I made in my business was a $997 course. It felt so freaking BIG. I paid in full. I felt like a badass.⠀

The next investment I made in my business was a $7,500 mastermind and I had mind DRAMA around this. I was so fucking afraid. Who am I to spend that? What if I don’t make it back? Can I even swing the payments?⠀

After that, I invested $10,000 in a year long event experience with Tony Robbins.⠀

Then $25,000 on another mastermind.⠀

After that was done, I hired a private coach at $5,000 *per month* and this was very much a “shit my pants omg what am I doing omg this is crazy omg I’m going to die” size investment for me.⠀

Your baby as well -- an individual & a little person unto themselves.

This is not to say that you can’t have a birth 👶 plan, or try and imagine what it’s going to be like.

I had a plan, and I definitely had expectations and preconceived notions based on movies 🎥 and just cultural norms.

All of that is fine, until you cling to your expectations at the expense of accepting what’s actually happening.

With birth, there are only so many things you can anticipate or control.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is to let go, and let it be ♡

When you’re constantly chasing the next thing…⠀

This really hit me yesterday.⠀
A Monday morning. No alarm.⠀
I wake up in the most beautiful home.⠀
Filled with furniture and decor I spared no expense on.⠀
I only work 3 days a week and yesterday wasn’t one of them.⠀
My beautiful, healthy baby is laying there peacefully.⠀
I’m married to man who absolutely adores me and our family.⠀
My puppy was snuggled up at my toes.⠀
It’s a Monday and we are going Christmas shopping. Stopping for lunch. No worried about what we spend.⠀
My DMs flooded with new women wanting to work with me.⠀
⠀
All of it is here—NOW.⠀
⠀
I’ll be damned if I miss out on ENJOYING this life I’ve built over the last 3 years to get caught up in the chase or what’s next.⠀
⠀
But I have to tell you…in the past I’ve been so obsessed with having my first 7-fig year that I didn’t even notice my actual dream life falling into place right before my eyes.⠀
⠀
I know I’ll continue to make more and more money. Illogical, extravagant, mind blowing amounts of money in my career. 💰 I know that, so I don’t have to obsess about the road to get there.⠀

Because there is here. Now. And I know when I anchor in deep appreciation for what’s here now — the momentum builds even more.⠀

Now look…my genius is marketing. I value strategy. So that’s not out the window. I have a plan of some new things I want to test and play around with in 2022.⠀

There’s an old saying that goes something like, “We make plans and God laughs.”

I manifested the hell out of my uterus 🤰 I yearned and prayed 🙏 and tried everything I could to naturally induce labor.

So of course my baby waited for the one night I stayed up too late and didn’t expect him to come...

Giving birth on 1.5 hours of sleep 😫 felt as if you had to take a test in a subject you never studied for while dealing with unyielding excruciating pain.

But I found that every time I tried to fight the situation, or what was happening, all that did was scare me.

I fought but ultimately surrendered, to a few key realities:

✨ He’d come on his own time
✨ He really was coming at a truly inconvenient time
✨ His birth was harder than anticipated, as was my experience post-labor

But honestly, now that I’m on the other side, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Trust the universe. Trust your physical body. Trust yourself 🤍
