I used to love Nicholas Sparks books. I could read through a sappy love story faster than you'd imagine. I remember I read ‘Dear John' in a day and a half.
There were books in my teenage years that I was so emotionally connected to and I loved reading those kinds of books. But like most people, if it came to something I wasn't super interested in – I couldn't be bothered.
So in high school and college as life got busier and busier, I made less and less time for reading books for fun. I was left with only reading for school which was usually pretty daunting.
It wasn't until I really started to focus on myself that I made reading a priority again and I became obsessed with books. When I first got back into the swing of leisurely reading, I had Amazon packages coming to my house every other week with new personal development and business books. I LOVE to learn and there's such a power in self-educating.
I learned A LOT about so many things, just through books. And people ask me for book recommendations ALL. THE. TIME. So I'm putting together my list of absolute faves + why I love them so much so you can start with a recommendation that makes sense for you!
Here we go…
1: The Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein – this book was the tip of the iceberg for me! This was the very first spiritual book that I dove into and I loved every single page. This book breaks down spiritual principles in a way that's so easy to connect. If you've never read a spiritual book and you're not savvy with Law of Attraction lingo, start with this book! It's so good and an easy read.
2: You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero – the perfect read if you need a verbal kick in the ass. This book doesn't explicitly connect the dots to spirituality but it explains how much you are in control of your own life in simple every day language. Jen is a super funny, witty, and relatable author.
3: A Return to Love: Reflection of a Course in Miracles by Marianne Williamson – I love this book so much because it takes very complicated principles from ACIM and breaks them down in a way that's so easy to understand. I appreciate this book especially growing up in a Christian household because the book explains how all spirituality is just love and how God and Love are the same.
4: Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza – if you want to understand the brain, energy work, and frequencies better, BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW. It's a heavier read but holy shit it really deepened my understanding of how our brains work and what frequency really is.
5: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle – this book explains the power of the present moment. If you're looking for a book that gracefully summarizes what spiritual enlightenment means and how to experience it, this is it.
