In this week's episode of Aligned & Ambitious Radio, I am going to share my million-dollar business plan. This will be my third year in business and it's one of my sales goals to finally hit 1 million dollars. Today, I am going to peel back the curtain and show you guys how I plan to achieve that goal and scale to seven figures in hopes it inspires you to do the exact same. 

But before we dive on in, let me introduce myself. My name is Taylor Slango and I’m the host of Aligned & Ambitious Radio and a business coach who helps women make major bank through their online businesses.

Intentions for the year

How I set myself up for success last year.

Last year, I had to be really intentional about what I did by making certain investments and decisions. What I'm doing this year to reach my goal is important but what I did last year laid out the foundation for my million dollar goal. One of the first things I did was invest in a huge rebrand. I transitioned from being just “Taylor Slango” to “Aligned and Ambitious” because I wanted to focus more on the overall vision and mission of my brand. I also invested in new web designs and copy so that my sales page could be upgraded and written. The next thing I did was dial in on my Five Figure Flow program. I hired a course designer to help me make the program go evergreen. We did this through a quiz funnel. That funnel was another thing I had to invest in and it took months to build because of the detail that had to go into it.

The next thing I focused on was learning how to build a team. This was one of the hardest things for me to do because I was hiring people that didn't fit. When I realized what I was looking for, I was able to create my dream team. The last two things I did in 2020 to help me towards this goal was surrendering more and focusing on client experience. I practiced working less and asking for help. I knew that with all my goals, I couldn't achieve them on my own. When it came to my clients, I elevated content and revisited our core offers so that everything was in alignment.

Strategies for 2021 that are helping me reach my million-dollar goal.

The first strategy is getting specific on my KPIs and intentions. I made a physical vision board and it has truly helped me so much. I have it hanging up in my office and it's something I get to look at every day for inspiration and motivation. For my KPI’s, I bought large notes and wrote down all the things I wanted to track and grow. I wrote down what my profit goals were and what my Q1 sales goals were so that I wouldn't forget them. My second strategy is to stop planning so far in advance and let things flow. Instead of building long-term plans, I focus on 90-day sprints and it's been working really well for me. I know I need space and flow because I'm always changing my mind. The third strategy for 2021 is to start focusing on where I put my time and energy. I did a detox of my calendar because I had so many recurring things with friends. Since I changed that, it's not like I still don't do those things but they're finally not repeating on my calendar. Now I can plan when I have space and have time to take care of myself.

The fourth strategy that I've been following is diversifying my platforms more. This year we are pursuing TikTok, I launched a YouTube channel, and I’m also on Clubhouse. This strategy is about taking the content we already created and exploring different platforms for different types of exposure. The last strategy for my million-dollar business plan is to scale evergreen funnels and basically everything else that is passive. I want to build up as much passive recurring revenue as possible and just have my two core coaching programs along with my clients. A breakdown of my team and what it looks like this year.

I always want to make sure I'm setting my team up for success and that I'm being a strong leader for them. The first person on my team is my right-hand executive assistant. She's responsible for so much in my business – she's the community manager and does all the admin work. She also handles payments, my calendar, and client onboarding and offboarding. The next member/company I work with is Profitable Podcast Productions. The CEO, Tara Counterman, has been doing my podcast since it launched and she's even helped me launch my YouTube. Tara and her team do all of my content repurposing, Pinterest, blog posts, and SEO. 

Next, I have my CFO to help me understand where my money is coming from and where my profit is. Our money is constantly working for us so my CFO is a key team player. Then, we have my marketing manager who does all the reporting, data analysis, and Facebook ads. Next is my designer who does all the sales pages and designs, which I get so many compliments on and I'm so thankful. The last person on my team is Ariel Schiffer. She’s my co-coach inside the Five Figure Flow program and she is also my course designer. I work with all these people because I value what they bring to the table. They are all so special and we work well together. When hiring a team you have to find people that are aligned with you!
